Dr. Joseph Thachil is widely regarded as one of India's most senior and venerated Urologists with over 45 years of clinical, operative, and academic distinction. He currently serves as Senior Consultant Urologist at Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, Chennai.
He completed his undergraduate medical studies (MBBS) from the historic Madras Medical College in 1968. Dr. Thachil then moved to North America, where he completed rigorous post-graduate surgical training and advanced urological residencies. He earned his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCS - Urology) in 1983 and was certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology in 1982.
Dr. Thachil has played a pioneering role in advancing modern urological surgery and endourology in India, having mentored multiple generations of prominent urological surgeons across the country.
