He completed his MBBS, MS in General Surgery, and super-specialization (M.Ch) in Plastic Surgery from Seth G.S. Medical College and King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital, Mumbai. Pursuing his passion for complex microvascular surgery, Dr. Kumta underwent rigorous post-doctoral clinical fellowships in reconstructive microsurgery, brachial plexus surgery, and aesthetic surgery at premier international centers.
Dr. Kumta is regarded as a pioneer in complex tissue transfer and replantation surgery in India. He has successfully performed thousands of microvascular free tissue transfers for limb salvage in severe trauma, complex head and neck cancer defect reconstructions, and pediatric brachial plexus injury repairs.
